Recommendations
Our “Brush&Splash” massage brush will be loved by anyone looking for natural, holistic ways to care for their skin while adding a moment of relaxation to their routine. We recommend it to everyone who wants to combine the soothing and calming effects of massage with skincare and self-care.
Please note, however, that we do not recommend this brush for people with varicose veins, broken capillaries or skin conditions such as acne or psoriasis. Do not use it on fresh wounds, scars, birthmarks or moles. In such cases, a cosmetic exfoliant may be a safer choice.
How to use
Here is a short step-by-step guide on how to dry brush your body correctly with the Brush&Splash massage brush.
- Prepare your skin. Before starting the massage, make sure your skin is dry. Do not apply any oils, body lotions or creams beforehand.
- Massage technique. Body brushing is intended to exfoliate dead skin cells, smooth the skin and support lymphatic circulation. For the best results, use the correct massage direction—following the direction of lymph flow, towards the lymph nodes. Usually, use long, sweeping strokes towards the heart. For the abdomen, use clockwise circular motions. Your movements should be gentle and calm; most importantly, do not press the brush too firmly against the skin. The first few massages may feel slightly rough, but over time they can become a much-anticipated moment of relaxation. During the massage, try to think kindly about your body—with respect, love and gratitude. Simply appreciate yourself. Just as you are.
Important: Avoid areas where the skin is damaged, including wounds, cuts, fresh scars, acne or other skin changes. Avoid moles and birthmarks. They are little islands in the ocean of your skin—simply sail around them!
- Body massage/brushing: Start with your feet, then move up to the calves and thighs. Remember to use long, sweeping strokes towards the heart. Move on to the abdomen, using clockwise circular movements. Then massage the hands, arms, shoulders, neck and bust, returning to sweeping strokes towards the heart. Remember that the skin on the breasts is very delicate, so massage this area very gently. Finish by brushing the buttocks and back.
- Massage duration. The massage should last around 5–10 minutes. Repeat each movement several times and remind yourself how truly special you are. Remember: you are beautiful, you are strong, you are Söppö!
- Massage frequency: Depending on your individual skin needs, you can massage daily, several times a week or occasionally. We usually recommend brushing three times a week. Observe your skin to make sure it is not overly exfoliated, red or irritated. If any of these symptoms occur, stop brushing. It is best to perform brush massage in the morning for an extra energising start to the day.
- Care after brushing. After the massage, apply your favourite moisturising products to enhance the skincare benefits. Brushing can increase the absorption of nourishing ingredients—make the most of this moment!
Brush care
Your new body massage brush needs a little love and care to serve you for as long as possible. Here is how to care for it:
After dry brushing: Tap the brush gently against your palm to remove any dead skin cells. If needed, you can wash it as described below.
After wet brushing: If your brush joins you in the shower, try to avoid getting the handle wet as much as possible. Wipe the handle after use and leave the brush to dry. When using the brush wet, remember to protect its wooden part with a plant oil. The wooden handle really does not like being washed :-(.
Weekly cleaning: Cleaning the brush once a week with a mild cleanser will help maintain its hygiene and effectiveness. Gently wash the bristles with water and a mild cleansing product, rinse with clean water and shake off any excess. Leave the brush to dry with the bristles facing down so that water droplets do not run onto the handle. You can protect the handle with a drop of plant oil. Remember, our brush prefers to dry naturally—avoid radiators and hairdryers.
Remember that even the best accessories wear out over time. Take care of your brush, and it will reward you with beautiful, healthy-looking skin.
Beechwood handle: The ergonomic handle, fitted with a blue strap, combines comfort of use with durability and an eco-conscious design. It has been carefully engraved with a playful seal motif, adding charm to every massage session, and painted white to enhance its appearance while helping protect the wood from moisture.
Agave fibres: These fibres have natural exfoliating properties and an excellent level of firmness, making them effective for stimulating the skin during massage. They are suitable for both dry and wet use, making them a versatile choice for different skincare needs. Their full biodegradability reflects our commitment to more environmentally friendly practices.
